In the summer of 2011, the JCC Maccabi Games® and JCC Maccabi ArtsFest® will take place in Israel for the first time!

Hosted by Games partner, Maccabi World Union, this landmark 12-day experience will include: five days of JCC Maccabi Games OR JCC Maccabi ArtsFest experience, a Day of Caring and Sharing, a weekend of home hospitality in our sister community of Holon, and five days of touring

About JCC Maccabi Games®

JCC Maccabi Games are an Olympic-style sporting competition held each summer. The Games are the largest organized sports program for Jewish teenagers in the world, with close to 5,000 teens participating each year.

About JCC Maccabi ArtsFest®

JCC Maccabi ArtsFest® began in 2006 in Baltimore, Maryland. It is a weeklong arts experience for creative Jewish teens. The week includes opening and closing events, workshops, performances, exhibits, community service, and social activities, while it strengthens bonds to Jewish heritage, community and Israel.

Program Information

Travel: Round Trip travel with Team San Francisco to point of departure (either New York or L.A. – to be determined at a later date). Depart from the U.S. on Sunday, July 24. Return from Israel on Friday, August 5.

Israel: 10 days, 11 nights including: 4 nights in the Galilee for the JCC Maccabi Games®/JCC Maccabi ArtsFest®, 2 nights home hospitality (Holon), 3 nights in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem (Kotel, Yad Vashem, Masada, Dead Sea, etc.), 1 night in the Negev (Sde Boker and Mitzpe Ramon), Final night closing at Kfar Maccabiah (near Tel Aviv)

Cost

$3,500 - includes all expenses including roundtrip travel from San Francisco to Tel Aviv.

Teens should note more than one sport or art specialty on the registration form. While it is the intention of the JCCSF to bring every eligible teen to this event, teens are not guaranteed their first choice of event.

Tryouts for team placement may be held if there are more registrations for a team than space. Should tryouts be necessary, you will be notified in advance of tryout dates and times.
